Teaching Cambridge International AS and A level Mathematics

Target Audience: Teachers of pre-university mathematics

Registration Fees: 500 for British Library members and 750 for non members
 
Aim of the workshop
 
To share methods of:
  • Developing confidence, satisfaction, enjoyment and appreciation in the math class
  • Using technology to enable students to visualise abstract tasks.
  • Assessing students in ways that go beyond their capacity to earn marks
  • To do mathematics
Materials required: Participants would benefit from bringing scientific calculators to the workshop.
 
About the trainer: Sneha Titus has been teaching mathematics for the last twenty years and resigned from her full time teaching job in order to pursue her career goal of inculcating in students of all ages, a love of learning the logic and relevance of Mathematics. She works as a retainer at the Azim Premji Foundation and also mentors mathematics teachers from rural and city schools. Sneha conducts workshops using the medium of small teaching modules incorporating current technology, relevant resources from the media as well as games, puzzles and stories which will equip and motivate both teachers and students.

Terms and conditions:
  • Workshop fee is payable prior to the commencement of workshop. All payments should be made either in cash / card / A/c Payee cheque / demand draft, payable to British Library, Bangalore.
  • If obliged to cancel an event, the British Council reserves the right to do so without further liability, subject to the return of any fee already paid.
  • In the event of a withdrawal, all notices must be given in writing at least 7 (seven) days before the commencement of workshop to obtain a full refund of fees. No notices for refund will be accepted less than 7 days before the commencement of workshop.
