World Book Day Celebrations
 
Celebrating the world of books and reading
 
The British Council India invites you to be a part of the World Book Day celebration this season. The World Book Day has been designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and is marked in over 100 countries. The World Book Day 2011 in the UK and Ireland was celebrated on 3 March, 2011. Most other countries host this event on 23 April every year.

Event Schedule
  • Book Display
    General books on varied subjects will be on display. There will also be special display of Graphic novels.
    Date: 18 - 23 April
    Venue: British Council, Chennai
  • Programme with Global Institute of Animation and Gaming (GIGA)
    This will comprise of audio-visual as well as power point presentations on the topics below
    1. Animation in agriculture
    2. Clout of interactive media
    3. Bazaar- Micro Finance Bible
    Date: 23 April
    Venue: British Council, Chennai
  • Workshop on creative writing for the age group above 17 years
    Date: 21 April
    Venue: British Council, Chennai
